My little gentlemen

I have to brag on the boys a bit. We went to the doctor office and grocery store this week. For those of you who don't know what it is like to take twins somewhere by yourself, let me tell you. Typically when you are out numbered by anything it is a little scary.

Most doctor appoints (or anywhere for that matter) I spend the entire time either feeding snacks, trying to distract with a toy or herding them towards something they can play with. I have to clean up our war zone for at least 20 minutes after the doctor leaves so they will let us come back again. At one appointment I had to scrub crayola marks off the floor --hey, I was desperate to keep Cache happy.

Our appointment on Tuesday was not our "typical" appointment. They were perfect gentlemen! It was still chaos, but it was organized chaos. I only had to tell them once not to get into something. I was one proud momma. The nurse even commented how well behaved they were. How often do you hear someone comment on a toddler being well mannered; much less two toddlers?

Since they did so well on Tuesday, I decided to join Carrie and the boys' best friends and fellow twins, George and Abridale (Abigail), on a trip to the grocery store. I had visions of screaming and things being pulled of the shelf on our way there. This was our maiden voyage to the store without Casey, so I was a little nervous. But, we charged on.

It was great! They were perfect. I couldn't have asked for them to act better. Asher rode in the seat (with the seat belt firmly secured) and Cache rode in the buggy. I had to tell Cache to stay on his bottom once! Only once!!!! We got all of our shopping done with smiles on our faces and no sweat running down my neck.

I am totally sold on the Parenting with Love and Logic method, but I am going to revel in our successful trips this week because I know it could be a rare event in the future.

--they are still toddlers with a stubborn streak a mile wide.
